On the move!

While Oliver may not yet be crawling, that does not necessarily mean that he is still immobile. Turns out our son is a wonderful "creeper" and likes to army crawl around the house. (I have also heard this termed "alligator crawling" and "creeping" but to me it just looks like an army crawl.) I can't say that I blame him for sliding on his tummy, because our floor is so ridiculously hard that it must hurt his little knees to try and crawl with his belly up. There is nothing more precious than watching him drag his baby body all over the house and it is also especially sweet when he follows me from room to room. He always appears so proud of himself when he finds me loading the dishwasher in the kitchen or in the hallway. Once he has found me he immediately attacks my feet and/or shoes and loves to end the game by being tossed in the air a few times and set back on his tummy in the opposite direction. Oliver also has a new best friend in the form of a bear carving in our living room. He is constantly having conversations with said bear, and if the bear gets too lippy or shows too much cheek, Oliver sobers him up with a few sharp slaps to his belly. I have to say, watching these encounters are far more entertaining than any book or movie and I truly feel blessed to have the most wonderful job in the world.

Following up on the teething experience, Oliver is now the owner of TWO teeth! Daddy discovered the second tooth when he was home for the weekend, and since then Oliver has been putting his new teeth to good use:-) He is now becoming a pro at getting Cheerios into his mouth with his newly developed pincher grasp and loves to receive little pieces of fruit or veggies with his breakfast and dinner. Ollie has also discovered "biter biscuits" and loves not only their taste, but the exquisite mess they make of him and anything surrounding him. :-)

Seth was also able to come home this last weekend for memorial day:-) It was so wonderful having him home again that this past week has been pretty tough without him. It was so cute watching Seth and Oliver play together and also watching Seth's reactions to all the new things Ollie was doing that he wasn't doing before he left. Seth was over the moon about Oliver sliding around the house and was found on several occasions rolling toys across the floor and watching Oliver chase them:-) Watching these two hang out was the highlight of the weekend for me, plus the fact that Seth made me some fantastic dinners while he was home AND he loaded the dishwasher! :-) Only three more weeks from tomorrow and my sweet pickle will be home again!

Oliver's first picture of him showing off his new teeth! (And some leftover breakfast!:-)

Flashing me that amazing smile!

Here he is on his 8 month birthday!!!

Norah and Ollie... (at least SHE thought my face was funny...)

Reminds me of the snowman from Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer... The beard?

Here is a video of our creeping child:-) Enjoy!!!
