Mini Marathon!

Okay, so I am posting this about two months after we did it, but just the same SETH AND I RAN A HALF MARATHON!!! That's right folks, 13.1 miles.... IN A ROW!!! So, for those of you who have run a 5k, imagine doing that, only four times IN A ROW!!! Running, not walking, 13.1 miles!!! AAAAHHHAAA! HA HA HAAA!!! Yes I may be slightly unbalanced, but I DID run a HALF MARATHON! HOLLER BACK!!!

Here we are just after the race, doing the "Hans and Franz";-)

Here we are showing off our well deserved medals!!! Check out that bling! Solid STAINLESS steel, OH SNAP!!!

This was me from before the race:-) I was wearing no makeup.... and it was really early.... and I'm not wearing any makeup.....

This is also from before the race. Seth is pinning on his bib, and looking slightly nauseous... 13.1 miles is a looooonnnnnngggggggg way!!!
Now that the race is over and done with, we can hardly wait to do another one! True, the sheer terror of running that far can be a little overwhelming, but the runner's high after cannot be beat! We hopefully will be running another one sometime in the year 2010, and I am keeping my fingers crossed to run one this Valentine's Day in San Diego with my Boo, aka: Julia my sister:-)

Happy Birthday Oliver!!!

Here it is!!! The post you have all been waiting for!!! The momentous occasion of when a child moves from infancy to toddler hood, THE FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! What will follow is the photo documentation of this joyous moment in the life of Oliver Seth Poulsen, and a rather sad moment for his Mommy, who realizes all too clearly now that "it goes fast".
Here we have the first picture of our ONE YEAR OLD boy!!! He looks pretty excited to me!

And here, we have the Birthday Boy starting the day with a nice breakfast of fruit loops. That was totally Daddy's doing...

Surveying his loot!

Helping Daddy clean for the party

And here is my masterpiece: The "Olligator" Cake
This here cake is the result of two days of hard labor working with fondant (aka, the devil), two sheet cakes, homemade cream cheese frosting, marshmallows, m&ms, and a few donut holes. It took me over six hours to frost this sucker, but let me tell you, it was worth it! The head and tail were made from lemon cake and the body was made from chocolate. It was by far, the best cake I have ever eaten, and not just because it looked so awesome.

Ace of Cakes, you ain't got nuthin' on me!

Blowing out his candle! Well, I guess Daddy blew out the candle, but still very cute!!!

Oliver eating his FIRST piece of cake!!!

The family shot! I have to mention here that right after this picture was taken, Oliver slimed me with green icing all down the front of my shirt... Which is why the only picture we have is Seth with his eyes closed:-)

Mommy and Daddy opening Oliver's presents for him:-) He was having way too much fun wooing the women and playing with his cousins!

Ollie looking ADORABLE in his new shirt from Grandma Poulsen! These little button down numbers just kill me!!!

This is from the day after the party where he is showing off his new jammies from cousins Jack, Eddie, and Norah...(And of course his Aunt & Uncle:-)

As you can see, we all had a wonderful day, and our little man had a great birthday! He got many awesome, (albeit LOUD:-) toys, and loved playing with all the cousins and the ladies. I can hardly believe that our Olligator is officially one year old now! I am so excited to see what this next year brings us if the first one was that much fun!!!
