Seth, the Fire Fighter

Yeah, thats me. As part of my familiarization with my new job, I have been going around to all the sections in the Civil Engineering Squadron. Last week, I went to the Fire Department. They showed me the firehouse, all their cool trucks, and then they let me fight a fire!!! Here I am headed running TOWARDS a massive fire:

And here I am putting out the fire (thats me on the nozzel up front):

No worries, it was just a training fire... although, I did come out with a torched helmet and coat and with some minor burns on my hand. Imagine if it had been a real fire!

All in all, not a bad day huh? And it left me pretty stoaked about my choice in carrer.

Its a boy, and now he's here!

So a lot has gone on in the past few months...

Most importantly, we had a son!!

Here is one of the first pictures of Oliver Seth Poulsen:

And here is one of the most recent pictures of him:

Also of note in the past few months; we moved to South Carolina, I started working for the Air Force, we moved into our first house, we had our one year wedding aniversary, our son turned two months old, and I cooked my first Thanksgiving turkey. So other than pretty much everything being new, I guess not much is new...

Its a BOY!!!

So we aren't patient, its true. And we don't really like surprises, at least when it comes to knowing what gender of baby we're going to have!

So, the proof is here, it's a boy!!!

We thought this picture made it pretty obvious :)

This one is a good shot of his profile:

so its official, were pregnant!!!

heres the proof...

thats the exciting news here for now. im not gonna lie, im really excited to be a dad. it will be a huge change in lifestyle for us, but were ready for it. my dad pointed out to me that im 25 years old now, and he said, "yeah its about time for you to be a dad." i couldnt agree more. im ready for it! the other thought that comforts me when i start to wonder is that the lord trusts me with a baby. if he didnt, we wouldnt be pregnant. its comforting to know that the lord knows we are ready for such a great responsibility.

31 January 2008

so i know its been a while since Christmas, but i just started on this blogger thing and figured i should try it out. so here are some pictures of our holiday.

here is our first Christmas tree!!! not much, only like a 7 footer, but it was perfect. it was enough to bring the felling of christmas inside, and thats all we needed.

this is maddie, my moms cat. she loved getting right in the middle of all the wrapping paper as we were opening gifts, ON CHRISTMAS EVE. cause thats the way it should be done. family and friends gifts get opened on Christmas eve, and the santa comes in the night and you get to open stockings and gifts from him. its perfect!!!

hope everyone had a merry christmas, we sure did!!!
